KOPA’S Prediction Corner EPL 26-27 Sep 2009

pylc 09Last week the blogger got 8 out of the 10 predictions right. As we reach another exciting weekend of premierleague action the blogger is back with his predictions on what’s going to happen this time.

1- PORTSMOUTH VS EVERTON

_46434180_portsmouth_evertonPortsmouth start to the season is the worst by any team in the history of the premier league. Six straight defeats but in the midweek they did show some spark as the progressed to the fourth round of the carling cup and with everton struggling on the road this season, i expect this to be a draw.

MY CALL: PORTSMOUTH 1-1 EVERTON

2- BLACKBURN VS ASTON VILLA

_46434182_bla_villa2_0506

Blackburn have had a really bad start to the new season with just four points from five matches, which puts them in the bottom three. Aston villa however, have bounced back splendidly after their opening day woes. I expect the trend to continue and villa to get all three points from ewood park.

MY CALL: BLACKBURN 1-2 ASTON VILLA

3- LIVERPOOL VS HULL CITY

_46434183_liverpool_hullcity

After a shaky start liverpool have now won five games on the bounce in all competitions. Big players are finally starting to perform well and the performance of Torres last week was quite simply worldclass. Hull on the other end are looking extremely weak. With Turner gone to sunderland this match has a David vs Goliath feeling to it.

MY CALL: LIVERPOOL 4- 0 HULL CITY

4- BIRMINGHAM CITY  VS BOLTON

_46434181_bir_bol_0506

Two sides that just dont score enough goals. Birmingham city managed to get three points away at hull city last time out and although they dont score many it has to be said they also dont concede many. They have only conceded four goals so far which is one less then the half liverpool has conceded. So i expect this to be a really tight game a nil nil draw may be.

MY CALL: BIRMINGHAM 0-0 BOLTON

5- WIGAN VS CHELSEA

_46434186_wigan_chelsea

Wigan have never won a game against the big four in their whole premier league history. Chelsea however are on a roll. They have won all their matches in all competitions this season so far. I dont expect wigan to break their duck in this game. It has to be an upset of extraordinary sorts if wigan were to get anything out of this  game.

MY CALL: WIGAN 0-2 CHELSEA

6- STOKE CITY VS MANCHESTER UNITED

_46434184_stokecity_manutd

Stoke city are one of the toughest team to play away at the britannia stadium in the premier league. They play direct football. Use long throws and make it extremely tough and physical for their opposition. United however have somehow managed to win matches even in which they dont dominate this season. A hallmark of a great side and i expect them to sneak out a result just like last season.

MY CALL: STOKE 0-1 MAN UTD

7- TOTTENHAM VS BURNLEY

_46434185_tottenham_burnley

Tottenham faced reality in the last two weekends when they came up against man united and chelsea. They just never matched the big guns from west london and manchester. However this is a game for them to bounce back and bounce back in style against a burnley side which is yet to get a point on road. Should be an easy win for the spurs

MY CALL: TOTTENHAM 2-0 BURNLEY

8- FULHAM VS ARSENAL

_46434187_ful_ars_0506

Late kickoff on saturday is the london derby at Craven cottage. Fulham remember, defeated arsenal in the same fixture early last season. However its going to be a mamoth task to repeat that feat this time around as arsenal will be welcoming back arshavin and with the winning mentality restored arsenal will win this one in my opinion

MY CALL: FULHAM 0-2 ARSENAL

9- SUNDERLAND VS WOLVES

_46434188_sunderland_wolves

Sunderland were extremely ordinary against burnley last time out. Steve Bruce must be infuriated with the performace of his central defenders as david Nugent’s brace ripped them apart. Mick Micarthy’s wolves have also had a tipsy topsy ride. Good at home ordinary away from it. I expect sunderland to win this one.

MY CALL: SUNDERLAND 2-1 WOLVES

10- MANCHESTER CITY VS WEST HAM

_46434189_mnc_whm_0506

Last weekend man city were left heart broken by a very very late winner by Michael Owen. Without going into the maths of extra time it was controversial to say the least. City however showed great attacking power as even without adebayor, robinho or santa cruz they were able to score three at old trafford. West ham have had a rough start to the season and i fear a backlash by this full of cash city side may be too hot to handle.

MY CALL: MAN CITY 3-1 WESTHAM
