Premier league action returns after an international break of two weeks. The blogger is back with the predictions on what is going to happen in the most watched football league in the world.
1- ASTON VILLA VS CHELSEA
Chelsea sit pretty at the top of the premier league. Drogba and Anelka are finally functioning in the same team and all is good at he west london club. Villa are also in a comfortable position. For me they are the best counter attacking team in the league, and with them being at home i fancy this one to be a score draw.
MY CALL: VILLA 1-1 CHELSEA
2- EVERTON VS WOLVES
After a shaky start to the season, everton have settled into the season very nicely. They are doing well in the europa league and are in a comfortable position in the domestic league as well. Saha is fit again and is scoring goals and with yakubu and Jo also back in contention I expect a home win.
MY CALL: EVERTON 2-O WOLVES
3- MAN UNITED VS BOLTON
Man united against sunderland showed that they lack the X-factor that ronaldo gave them. But still they have resolve and determination that a great side must have. Rooney and giggs are the main men for the red devils and against a bolton side that will be physical but will not offer too much in terms of quality i expect united to win this one.
MY CALL: MAN UNITED 2-0 BOLTON.
4- ARSENAL VS BIRMINGHAM CITY
Birmingham don’t score many goals. Mind you, they don’t concede many either. Arsenal on the other hand concede a few and score a lot. They have scored 6 goals in a match already twice this season. Fabregas’s form is back to best and he is scoring and making goals for fun. Birmingham for me are in for a tough ride at the emirates.
MY CALL: ARSENAL 3-0 BIRMINGHAM
5- SUNDERLAND VS LIVERPOOL

Normally you would expect most people to predict an easy liverpool victory over sunderland. But with injury scares to Gerrard and Torres combined with the jet lag of Mascherano and Lucas this one is a very tricky fixture for the mersyside giants. Sunderland have weaknesses at the back and if Torres is fit which i expect him to be liverpool might just nick this one.
MY CALL: SUNDERLAND 1-2 LIVERPOOL
6- STOKE VS WEST HAM
West ham for me should have more points than what they have at the moment. They have a solid side with a very good manager and coach. But unfortunately for them this is not the ideal fixture to put things right. Stoke, as we all know are a very tough physical side and at home they don’t loose many. Home win for me.
MY CALL: STOKE 1-0 WEST HAM
7- PORTSMOUTH VS TOTTENHAM
Portsmouth finally got what they deserved a lot earlier in the last match against wolves. For me the results don’t do justice to the hard work some of the pompey players like O’hara and Brown have put in. Spurs have 4 international strikers to choose from but they look a little weak in the central midfield and left wing area. Crouch, Defoe, Krancjar and Harry Rednapp return to their former club and i don’t expect a warm welcome. Draw will be the outcome in my opinion.
MY CALL: PORTSMOUTH 1-1 TOTTENHAM
8- BLACKBURN VS BURNLEY
This match is not just a football match. The fans really hate each other, and when the ‘wild rover’ song is sung be sure that the tempers will run high both on and off the field. Referee will not have an easy ride as this is a proper Lancashire derby. On the field we may not see much quality but with both teams desperate not to loose ill sit on the fence.
MY CALL: BLACKBURN 1-1 BURNLEY
9- WIGAN VS MAN CITY
Man city don’t like playing against wigan away from home. Wigan under Roberto Martinez have done really well against the big sides (apart from man united). Man city have a lot of options upfront and in the center, but i dont think they will have enough to win this one. Infact I’ll stick my neck out and predict a win for wigan in this one.
MY CALL: WIGAN 2-1 MAN CITY
10- FULHAM VS HULL CITY
Hull had a great win last time out against wigan at home. They needed that win badly as Phil Brown was under tremendous pressure to deliver good results. Fulham are in a complex situation themselves as they have mustered up only 7 points from 7 matches. At home however, i expect them to be solid and do just enough to see of an ordinary Hull side.
MY CALL: FULHAM 2-0 HULL CITY
